The early achievements of Maureen FitzSimons in the performing arts, which we now know to be Maureen O'Hara, would certainly have qualified her to be in being in the "child prodigy" category. For a child from Irish origin, and surrounded by gifted parents and family, these were very natural traits. Maureen came to this loving refuge on the 17th of August 1920. She was raised by her parents and family members. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons, her mom. She was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman in Dublin who also controlled a portion of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons was 2nd in the family of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off the gorgeous family. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as young and became very good at them. The combination of this passion and her gift in performing was astonishing. As evidenced by getting almost every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. At age 14she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study the art of opera and classical theatre.
